Our Policies

Safeguarding

DRAFT — not yet the church’s official policy. This page provides a standard structure only. The wording below must be reviewed and approved by Hammersmith Christian Fellowship’s leadership, and the highlighted details supplied, before it should be relied upon.

Our commitment

Hammersmith Christian Fellowship is committed to the safety and wellbeing of everyone who takes part in the life of the church, and especially children, young people and adults who may be at risk. We believe every person is made in the image of God and deserves to be treated with dignity, respect and care.

Who to contact

If you have a safeguarding concern, please speak to our Designated Safeguarding Lead:

[To be supplied by HCF: name, role, phone number and email of the Designated Safeguarding Lead, and a deputy if one is appointed.]

Raising a concern

If you are worried that a child or adult is at risk of harm, tell the Designated Safeguarding Lead as soon as possible. If someone is in immediate danger, always call the emergency services on 999 first. Concerns will be taken seriously, handled sensitively, and acted upon in line with our safeguarding procedures.

External support

You can also contact independent organisations for advice:

[HCF to confirm any denominational safeguarding contact — e.g. via the Old Baptist Union — and add it here.]

Policy review

[HCF to confirm: the date this policy was adopted, the date it is next due for review, and who is responsible for reviewing it.]

To finalise this page, HCF needs to supply:

  1. Your approved safeguarding policy wording (or confirmation this standard wording is acceptable).
  2. The name, role and contact details of your Designated Safeguarding Lead (and deputy).
  3. Any denominational or Old Baptist Union safeguarding contact.
  4. The policy adoption date and next review date.
